A J-Hook liner can only be installed one way. The liner simply hangs directly on the top of the pool wall utilizing the integrated J-Hook attachment

A Uni-Bead liner can be used 2 different ways. You can simply hang the liner directly to the top of the pool wall utilizing the integrated J-hook attachment at the top of the liner, or the J-hook bead can be removed and you can install it as a traditional snap in beaded liner into bead receiver track. 

We recommend installing a Uni-Bead liner as a J-Hook liner because it creates a better seal at the pool wall. To install it as a J-Hook you do not need to purchase any additional parts. When using it with Bead Receiver as a snap in Beaded Liner, the chemically treated water in the pool can get behind the liner (through the gaps in the bead receiver tracks) and corrode the pool wall.
